Testimonies of Christ
By: Brandon Page
This past week I had the opportunity to serve as an FSY (For the Strength of Youth Counselor) for the very first time. I felt very close to the Lord during the week and I am convinced it was due in large part to the many prayers that were offered by these youth’s family and friends and by the youth themselves. The Spirit of the Lord prevailed during the week and I can add my witness that the Lord does love all of His children and especially the youth. Their hearts changed during the week and they left with a stronger desire to grow closer to their Savior. I invited the youth in my group/company to share some of their favorite scriptures and a little bit about why these verses were their favorite and here are the scriptures and thoughts they shared:
Brandon
Jesus Christ does not want us to contend with others, it is not His way. I want want to know His way. I want to put away contention and become like Him. I believe He wants to speak to me and help me get to know Him so I can feel loved and help others get to know Him.
Harrison
I like these scriptures because they teach me to take His gospel and keep it with me, and I know if I do so, I will be saved and my faith will become more knowledgeable.
Nash
This verse describes how I want to live my life.
Davis
I like this scripture because it shows Christ’s character in how he still cried over Lazarus’ death even knowing he could bring Lazarus back to life.
Cade
I like this scripture because it gives me hope.
Blake
I like this scripture because it teaches me that although no one is perfect, through Christ we can be perfected and sanctified.
Chance
Jesus saved our souls and we are able to be thankful and be forgiven of our wrongs.
Christ teaches these people who don’t know him yet and promises they can pray and know Him and that his words are true.
Brayden
I like how Nephi shows respect to his parents.
Gabe

My favorite scripture is Isaiah 29:13. It talks about how all these people out there are claiming to worship Jesus, but their hearts aren’t in it. It also talks about how the fear towards Jesus is taught by men.
Kassidy
My favorite scripture is Psalms 23. It talks about how the Lord is our Shepard and he can get us through hard times. I just like it because it’s a comforting chapter for anyone in need of guidance.

What a wonderful group!
