A couple of weeks ago, we received a good amount of rain in Utah and notwithstanding the wet and cold, miracles abound in the valley of the Y. It is actually starting to get a bit more sunny. The sun is a wonderful gift from our Heavenly Father and it shines year round on planet earth 24 hours a day. Even when it is blocked from our view it is still shining on us. Similar to the sun, the Son of God, our Savior Jesus Christ, is always watching over us. Even when we don’t see Him, He is there, and He makes life possible here on the earth and after this life.

If we take a moment to appreciate the world around us we can find evidences of God and His love for us. A friend of mine recently shared a cool insight with me about physics and how it can relate to the Savior.

One of my favorite insights has to do with how Jesus Christ is literally light. Light travels in the form of photons, and photons are released from electrons in an atom going from a higher energy level to a lower energy level. The larger the jump the electron makes, the more energy the photon will have. There is a verse in D&C 88:6 that teaches us about the light of Christ and why He is light: “He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all things, in that he comprehended all things, that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth;” In my opinion, this is very very similar to how photons are released from atoms. It is another type (example) of Christ, and a testimony to me that His presence does extend throughout the universe.

I love Kevan’s insight and it is amazing how the Savior’s light is all around us, from atoms to gas giants, the Lord is constantly guiding us back to Him. This month we have the opportunity to remember the Savior and celebrate His resurrection as we prepare for Easter.

May we always look to the Savior’s light for safety and strength, we can always count on Him!
