Yesterday afternoon I had the opportunity to pick up my dad’s medicine from the grocery store pharmacy and when I asked for his medicine they only gave me one of his medications. I told the pharmacist that I had been expecting there to be more, but she informed me that the others would be ready in the morning. When I arrived home, my dad told me that there should have been at least one other medicine that was ready the day prior. I thought, well that is kind of annoying, especially since I asked the pharmacist if there were any other of his medications that were ready. Nevertheless I went back with my wife and after picking up the other medication from a slightly embarrassed pharmacist, we made our way towards the exit. On the way there we saw a friend of ours named Jacob. He looked exhausted and after a little small talk we learned that he had walked to the store and was going to walk back home. We offered him a ride and his countenance changed to cheeriness. It was a small gesture, and we got him safely home. It is amazing how the Lord watches over each of us, and I am grateful for the opportunity we had to participate in His work. If we look hard enough, we can recognize the Lord’s watchful hand. In the scriptures it is awesome to see moments when Christ went out of His way to help those in need like He did with the widow of Nain. He went walking 25 miles out of His way from Capernaum to Nain in order to be there at just the right moment to help a mother by restoring her only son to her (Luke 7: 11-14). The Lord is aware of us.
