Today was my third day back in Gonzales, Texas, and I have enjoyed revisiting with friends and family. Although life is hectic wherever I go, I feel strengthened as I am able to remember the people in my hometown and rekindle the friendships I have made in the past. As I hear about the hardships my family and friends face, I want to become better and more true so that I can strengthen my family and friends and do my best with the time I have. More and more I can see how all people are important to God and most people are trying to do their best in life. I also feel excited when I can see flashes of potential in others to do good in ways like learning about their family history or doing honest work, or taking time to reach out and visit friends. There are so many good people in the world with different faiths and priorities, and all together they make the world a better place. As we turn towards Jesus Christ and strive to repent and follow Him, He will guide us to know how to lift those around us. I have felt His arm outstretched to me in moments where I want to judge people who have wronged me in the past and at times where I feel overwhelmed by my mistakes. He is ready to strengthen us and help us become free from our mistakes. He is our Savior and Redeemer, and all wounds can be healed through Him.
