Today was a special day because I was able to serve some of my friends. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing the good in my day when I fall short in areas of my life, but taking a step back and thinking of all of the blessings in my day helps me gain perspective and motivation to keep on moving toward the Savior. I am grateful that our Heavenly Parents reach out to us through feelings and places of peace and give us opportunities to be a part of each other’s lives. There is a group of verses in the scriptures where a prophet named Nephi talks about the things he is grateful for, although he phrases his gratitude statements a bit differently than “I’m grateful for … .” He talks about the Savior Jesus Christ and how his life has been enriched by the truths the Savior offers him. Another prophet named Ammon also talks about the things he is grateful for in a similar way. Some truths that I have been able to think about today are that our Heavenly Parents are aware of us and are attentive to us. We have the freedom to choose to follow the Savior and learn to think, see, feel, hear, and be like Him. Each day is a new opportunity to be a little better than yesterday, and we are all children of loving Heavenly Parents. God has many blessings in store for all of us and He rejoices as we strive to follow Him.
